Mary L. Odom, age 77, of New Ulm, died Friday, August 16, 2019 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH Chapel in New Ulm.

Mary is survived by her husband, Gordon of New Ulm; her daughters, Sandra Kay (Todd Anderson) Monticelli and Jill Ann (Mike) Peterson; grandchildren, Matthew (Sarah) Tachis, Tommy Tachis, Kelly (Daniel Ramirez) Ruiz, Melissa (Erik) Ostrom, Theresa Tachis, Kristina Hursh-Ronning, Kortney (Zach Dummer) Peterson, Brody Peterson, and Wyatt Peterson; great-grandchildren, Lily, Ava, Rhilyn, Kyre, Mason, Tommy, Maryn, Mason, Patricia, Kiki, and Maddyn; sister, Connie Mathes; a niece, Eve (Dan) Canfield; and great-nieces, Amanda (Monte) Benedict and Meghan Canfield.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Mary Lynne Ruiz; and a nephew, Phillip Mathes.

Mary Lou Randal was born on April 24, 1942 in Fort Benning, GA to John & Lorraine (Weitemier) Randal.  She graduated from Mesa Senior High School in Mesa, AZ. Mary was united in marriage to Gordon Leon Odom on August 26, 1964 in Cherokee, IA. She worked as a pharmacy technician at Kmart for 28 years until she retired in 2002.  Mary also was a seamstress, model, and fashion designer.  She enjoyed crafting, embroidery, dogs, and golfing.  Mary designed and created hundreds of costumes for friends and family. She was an avid fan of hockey, baseball, gymnastics, figure skating, and dance.  Most of all, Mary enjoyed spending time with her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and friends.
