Maxine Joy Hargan was born on July 23, 1934 in Niobrara, Nebraska to Harry and Bernice (Benson) Hargan. She was raised in Nebraska, Illinois, and Washington until making her home in Minnesota. On August 26, 1952 Maxine was united in marriage to Lloyd Sabatka in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The couple was blessed with three children whom together they raised in Jackson. Maxine was a homemaker for the majority of her life. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, painting, rosemaling, embroidery, and all needlework. If it was crafty, Maxine did it. The greatest joys of Maxine's life were holidays and family. She was a wonderful mother and an extraordinary Grandma. Maxine was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, a Den Mother, a volunteer with the Brown County board of elections, a supporter of New Ulm's MS group, and a long-time member of Christ the King Lutheran Church. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
