Obituary

Michael Roger Rubischko, age 69 of New Ulm died peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

Memorial service will be 11 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm. Father Monsignor John A. Richter will officiate the service, and full military honors will be provided by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard.
Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home in New Ulm.

Mike is survived by his wife, Joan Rubischko of New Ulm; daughter, Heidi (Harlan) Schauer of International Falls; son, Brian (Sharon) Rubischko of Durham, North Carolina; grandchildren, Heather and Kyle Rubischko; sisters, Sandra (Richard) Hellendrung of Fairfax, Monica (Robert) Buboltz of New Ulm; and brother, Steven (Grace) Rubischko of Gibbon.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Michael "Mike" Roger Rubischko was born April 21, 1946 in New Ulm to Frank and Marie (Penkert) Rubischko. He was a 1964 graduate from Gibbon High School. After school, Mike enlisted in the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to Joan Marie Oldenborg on June 28, 1968 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Mike began his career working as a heavy duty machinery mechanic. Later, Mike worked as a truck driver, most recently driving for American Midwest Transportation of Courtland. Mike will forever be remembered as a hardworking man who did everything he could to provide for his family.
