Micheal Anton Ries was born on January 23, 1942 in New Ulm to Jerome and Marcella (Hacker) Ries. He attended District 7 Country School and Cathedral High School from 1956-1960.  Mike also took classes at Texarkana Community College in Texas. Mike met Charlotte Tauer at Cathedral High School & they began dating in 1960, later married at St. Mary's Parsonage in New Ulm. The couple were blessed with two children. Mike was a man of many skills & had been retired for 27 years. Throughout his career, he owned a Clark station, farmed, drove semis and trained drivers, and was a dispatcher and terminal manager. Even in retirement, he continued to work on many projects with his brother-in-law Mike.  He was a member of COF, various Co-ops, and St. Mary's Catholic Church. He enjoyed baseball and softball, participating in demolition derbies and working on demo cars with Lanny, hunting in north Texas with Lanny, coaching Tracy's softball, going to casinos & participating in football boards, watching and attending Formula 1 races with Tracy, trips to California and travelling the lower 48 with Charlotte, visiting with relatives and friends at birthday, anniversary, or holiday parties, and in typical Mikey fashion, raising hell. He will be missed by all who had the honor of knowing him. Blessed be his memory.
