Michelle Kay Gaard, age 60, of New Ulm died peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2024, at her home in New Ulm.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

The Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes of New Ulm are assisting the family with arrangements at this time.

Michelle Kay Gaard, age 60, of New Ulm died peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on Monday, August 12, 2024.

Michelle is survived by her husband Bradley, her mother Mary Bushard, her father Dale Bushard and special friend Cindy Walters, and brother Todd Bushard and special friend Kris Lorenzen.

Michelle is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and her beloved boxers Gus, Buzz, Neuman, and Tank.

Michelle Kay Gaard was born on May 10, 1964, to Dale and Mary (Altmann) Bushard in Madelia, Minnesota. She grew up in New Ulm with her brother Todd and graduated from New Ulm High School. Michelle was united in marriage to Bradley Gaard in Hawaii on October 7, 1998. She worked a variety of jobs including at MCG, Bemis Health Care, Archery Trade Association, Shellie R Kahler Inc, and Robert Seifert CPA. Michelle enjoyed creating and working in her many gardens. She was a proud member of The Prairie Enthusiasts and served as the secretary of the Many Rivers chapter. One of her greatest joys was loving and caring for her dogs. She was especially close to her lab Ruby who was with her so often while she was sick.
