Neva was born in rural Winthrop, Minnesota on March 27, 1929, to Anton and Ida (Lundgren) Anderson.  She was the youngest of Anton Anderson's nine children.  She attended Country School number 46 in Alfsborg Township and graduated from Winthrop High School in 1947, attending Bernadotte Lutheran church in rural Lafayette.  Neva idolized her older sister Ethel and was determined to work in business as Ethel did, so following her high school graduation, she enrolled at American Business College in Minneapolis, MN.

On April 28, 1950, Neva met her husband Vern, and they were united in marriage on July 14, 1951, at Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato, Minnesota.  After Vern completed his education at the School of Agriculture in St. Paul, Minnesota, Neva and Vern moved to Neva's parents' farm in rural Winthrop to begin farming. She encouraged an atmosphere of learning for her children as she inspired them to explore and use their imagination in activities on the farm.  In addition to their own children, Neva and Vern opened their home as foster parents.  They wintered first in Florida and then in Mesa, Arizona until 2017.  Neva loved their Valle del Oro community, taking classes and walking through the community to visit with neighbors, as well as serving as a welcome guide for the community. Neva was active in many service organizations, including 4-H and the Rural Welfare Club; and she taught Sunday School at both Grace Lutheran Church in Mankato and at Bernadotte Lutheran Church where she was a Luther League leader. Neva also enjoyed singing and was a member of the Bernadotte Lutheran Church choir and multiple glee clubs. Neva enjoyed learning about her Swedish roots.  Vern and Neva explored  Sweden to visit and research their ancestral roots. They also traveled throughout the United States, Europe, Canada, Panama and Israel.

Neva is survived by her daughter Nancy Rubischko of Lafayette, Minnesota, son and daughter-in-law David and Terese Paulson of Bloomington, Minnesota; grandson Justin Niebuhr, his wife Jenna, and great-grandchildren Leah and Lora, of St. Charles, Missouri,  granddaughter Tricia Lancaster, her husband Mark, and great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Eleanor, Coraline and Josephine of Northfield, Minnesota; grandson Jared Niebuhr, his fiancé Kalei Gaines and her daughter Leuiana Hayman of Minnetonka, Minnesota, grandson Stephen Paulson of Richfield, Minnesota, and grandson Erik Paulson of Albany, New York; brother Charles Merton Anderson; and many nieces and nephews.

Neva was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, Vern Paulson, her parents, Ida and Anton Anderson, son-in-law Thomas Rubischko, brothers and sisters-in-law Clifford (Martha) and Marvin (Lillian), sisters and husbands Frances (Albert), Helen (Victor), Ethel (Leo), Harriet, and Mathilda; sister-in-laws Darlene and nephew Curtis, Florance (Earl) (Alan) and nephew Arvin, brother-in-laws Leonard (Doris), Harry, Lloyd (Beverly).
