Noel Thorson, age 67, of Cambria, Minnesota, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 16, 2026.

Celebration of life will be from 1 - 3pm, Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Nicollet Conservation Club. Private burial will follow at Saint Paul Cemetery in Nicollet.

Noel was born on June 25, 1958, in New Ulm, Minnesota, to Orland and Eyvonne (Neiman) Thorson. He grew up in Courtland and graduated from New Ulm Public School. In time, Noel made his home in Cambria, where he worked hard to provide for and raise his children.

Following school, Noel worked a variety of hands-on jobs before beginning a long career with Wis-Pak Inc. He worked in production and maintenance for 30 years until health issues eventually forced his retirement. Noel took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic throughout his life.

Outside of work, Noel was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, and camping. He especially enjoyed traveling on his motorcycle out west to the Black Hills and taking trips up north in Minnesota to camp and enjoy the outdoors. More than anything, Noel enjoyed time spent with his children and grandchildren and dreamed of sharing many more adventures and activities with them.

Noel is survived by his son, Timothy (Savannah) Thorson of Cambria, and their children, Aiden Weller and Waylon Thorson; daughter, Alicia (Eric) Madsen of Hanska, and their children, Kami (Josh) Berheim of Pierre, South Dakota, Kendra Broekhuizen of Brookings, South Dakota, Kaden Madsen of Groton, South Dakota, and Collin Johnson of Hanska; brothers, Oren (Grace) Thorson of New Ulm and Leon Thorson of Eagle Bend; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Orland and Eyvonne (Neiman) Thorson; son, Jarod Thorson; brothers, Dean and Neil Thorson; and stepmother, Ina (Peterson) Thorson.
