He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Delphine Schugel, parents-in-law, Frank and Anne Wolf; grandson, Robbie Schanus; sisters and brothers-in-law, Marie and Robert Hillesheim, Virginia and Florian Prahl, Dorothy and Willard Breu, Rosemary and Harold Mees; brother and sister-in-law, Melvin and Juliann Schugel; and brother-in-law, Andrew Hofmeister.

Ohmar J. Schugel was born December 20, 1926 to John and Anna (Schaefer) Schugel in Cottonwood Township. He attended grade school until the 8 th grade and helped his dad on the family farm. On June 9, 1949, Ohmar was united in marriage to Delphine Wolf at Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Ohmar supported his family by driving semi mostly for Star Bulk. After a full career, he retired and began driving for Kraft Transport part time for many more years. During that time, he enjoyed going to Texas, Arizona, and other southern states in the winter.

One of Ohmar's greatest joys in life was his family. Around 1995, Delphine was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Ohmar cared for her at their home. Eventually, she had to be moved into a nursing home and for over seven years Ohmar visited her every day or made sure a family member visited her when he could not. He loved all the time he was able to spend with Delphine, as well as his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and his extended family.

Ohmar's biggest hobby was stock cars. He helped to found the demolition derby in New Ulm when he served as the president of the Minnesota Valley Stock Car Racing Association. In addition to serving as president, he also raced stock cars and worked as the flagman for many years. He treasured all the time he was able to spend with the innumerable friends he made over all the years he raced.

Ohmar will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Blessed be his memory.
