Orville Busse, age 91, of Arlington passed away Saturday, December 27, 2025 at United Hospital in St. Paul.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 2, 2026 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn. Pastor Kay Rohloff will officiate. Burial will follow in the High Island Cemetery in New Auburn.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, January 1, 2026 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Auburn. Visitation will continue from 10-11 a.m. Friday at church.

Orville is survived by his wife of 73 years, Dorothy Busse; daughter, Muriel (Ron) Bauer; sons, Loren (Julie) Busse, Lowell (Jeannie) Busse; nine grandchildren, Chris (Kristie) Bauer, Tim (Marlinda) Bauer, Andy (Kristen) Bauer, Aaron (Jackie) Busse, Carolyn Ursua, Matthew (Jordan) Busse, Maggie Busse, Jake (Kim) Busse, Cody (Katie) Busse; three step grandchildren, Sean (Maggie) Bernardy, Andrea (Mike) Peek, Jessica Bernardy; 22 great-grandchildren, Cole, Lauren, Claire, Tori, Aubree, Aiden, Avery, Karter, Owen, Hadley, Joseph, David, Grace, Kizer, Greenly, Livi, Marek, Logan, Lincoln, Stella, Aries, Leo; 9 step great-grandchildren, Tristan (Kacy), Liam, Austin, Amelia, Archer, Leo, Haley, Taylor, Emma; 2 step great-great-grandchildren, Oakley, Maverick; nephews, Dennis (Eileen) Busse, Darrell (Lynell) Busse; and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son-in-infancy, Wayne Busse; brother, Marvin (Gladys) Busse; and brother-in-law, Ernst Bruesehoff.
Orville Edwin Busse was born October 14, 1934 to Paul and Lillie Busse in New Auburn. He attended grade school in New Auburn and helped on the family farm. On October 24, 1952, Orville was united in marriage to Dorothy Bruesehoff at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Green Isle. Their union was blessed with four children. In addition to being a husband and father, Orville provided for his family by farming and driving truck – specifically milk truck, livestock, and sweetcorn for 35 years and then concrete for 38 years. In his free time, Orville was active with the Shady Lane Sportsman Club, High Island Conservation Club, and Immanuel Lutheran Church where he served as trustee and memorial/benevolence treasurer. He also enjoyed listening and dancing to old time music, social hour, taking care of his barn cats, and spending time with his many grandchildren. Orville will be dearly missed. Blessed be his memory.
