Obituary

Phyllis Mae Dallmann, age 98, of St. Peter passed away Monday, August 3, 2026 at Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2026 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in St. Peter. Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Nicollet.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, August 8, 2026 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in St. Peter.

Phyllis Mae Dallmann was born November 19, 1927 in Granby Township, Nicollet County to Louis and Alice (Schouveller) Menk. She was baptized at Nicollet Trinity Lutheran Church in Nicollet. Confirmed at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in St. Peter. Graduated from St. Peter High School in 1945.

Married Dennis Dallmann April 23, 1948, at St. Peter Ev. Lutheran Church in St. Peter. Phyllis lived on a farm all her married life in rural North Mankato. She worked as a teacher's aide for 20 years at Nicollet Public School in Nicollet. She enjoyed fishing, playing cribbage, completing the daily crossword puzzle, and reading her daily devotions. She also loved to travel, especially to Hawaii, Arizona, and Florida.

Phyllis is survived by four daughters and husbands: Lana (Harvey) Grunst of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, Wanda (Fred) Cabanilla, Etta (John) Forbrook of rural North Mankato, Lila (Dan) Frederick of Madison Lake, MN.

Five grandchildren: Michael (Tonya) Forbrook of Wickenburg, Arizona, Mindy Grunst of Waukesha, Wisconsin, Mathew (Darnell) Cabanilla of Nicollet, MN, Meggy (Greg) Kutz of Lake Mills, Wisconsin, Chad Cabanilla of rural North Mankato, MN.

Seven great-grandchildren: Kyara (Sam) Koepsell, Emersyn and Easton Forbrook, Joshua and Alexandria Kutz, Alice Cabanilla and Wyatt Cabanilla; six great-great-grandchildren: Victor, Gideon, Samson, Malachi, Judah, Reuben Koepsell; half sister: Phyllis Engel of Oregon; two nieces, Joyce Gedde and Jeanne Cox of rural North Mankato.

Preceded in death by husband Dennis in 1995, parents, sister Eleanor, and brother-in-law Gordon Swenson.
