Rayna E. Schmid, age 44, of New Ulm, died Saturday, July 16, 2022 at St. Cloud Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH Chapel in New Ulm, with Pastor Timothy Anderson officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Lower Sioux Community Cemetery in Morton, MN.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 pm on Monday, July 25 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-SOUTH Chapel in New Ulm, and will continue one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Rayna is survived by her daughter, Tatianna of Mankato; grandson, Kyrie; her parents, Gary and Mila Schmid; her brothers, Lance and Chad; her nieces, Beth Schmid, Aurora Prado, and Reagan Schmid; and her nephew, Gavin.

She was preceded in death by her infant son, Jace Goodthunder.

Rayna was born on September 26, 1977 in New Ulm to Gary & Mila (Puri) Schmid. She was a 1996 graduate of Waconia High School. Rayna then attended the University of Minnesota, graduating with a degree in retail design and marketing. She enjoyed golfing, playing cribbage, shooting pool and hoops, spending time with her friends and her beloved black lab, Doogy. Rayna had a passion for exploring nature and collecting unique rocks she would find along the way. Most of all, Rayna had a gorgeous smile, an infectious laugh, and would do anything for anybody. She truly was a beautiful soul who was taken from us too soon. May she rest in peace and her beautiful soul dance for eternity. Happy trails, Rayna.
