Obituary

Renee Wenger, 63, of Lafayette died Monday, September 26, 2011 at the Winthrop Good Samaritan Center in Winthrop.

Funeral service will be 2 PM Saturday, October 1, 2011 at the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses in New Ulm with burial in the New Ulm City Cemetery at a later date.

Visitation will be 1 - 2 PM Saturday at the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses in New Ulm.

The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is handling the arrangements.

Renee is survived by her husband, Merle Wenger of Lafayette; her mother, Denise Wittrock of Bloomington; a daughter, Rise Landwehr of St. Paul; grandchildren, Stephen and Brandon Landwehr; a sister and brother-in-law, Dana and Ron Peterson of Bloomington.

She was preceded in death by her father; and by her twin brother Ryan Edward Wittrock at birth.

Renee Kristine Wittrock was born March 2, 1948 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota to Lester and Denise (Hargrove) Wittrock and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witness's in 1961. She attended school in Sioux Falls and was a graduate of Washington High School in Sioux Falls. Renee was united in marriage to Merle Wenger on November 2, 1968 in Sioux Falls. After marriage they resided in Redwood Falls then moved to Bloomington in 1970 and then settled in Lafayette in 1980. During those years she was employed as a daycare provider, worked at a cleaning service, home office work and was a homemaker. Renee was an active member of the New Ulm Congregation of Jehovah's Witness.
