Richard L. Berg, age 91, of New Ulm passed away Monday, September 16, 2024 at the Oak Hills Living Center.

A visitation will be held from 3:00 – 6:00 pm on Friday, October 4, 2024 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH Chapel. Military honors will be provided by the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard.  A private burial will take place at a later date.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Kathy (Kerry) Patchett; special friend, Monica Stephenson; brother, Leo Berg; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rita Robertson, Mary McGuirk, and Corinne Underwood.

Richard Leo Berg was born July 30, 1933 to Leo and Mathilda (Jacobsen) Berg in New Ulm. He graduated from Cathedral High School and went on to graduate from St. John's University in 1955. After college he enlisted in the United States Army and served from 1955 – 1957. He was united in marriage to Mary Ann Landherr in 1957. After his time in the service Richard went on to work as an insurance broker for Banker's Life and Principal Financial Group. He was a member of the Concord Singers and Cathedral of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Richard enjoyed music and spending time outdoors. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him.
