Roland Gronau, age 84, of Franklin passed away Thursday, August 3, 2023 at his home.

Visitation will be from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Friday, August 11, 2023 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Franklin. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.

Funeral service will be 10:00 am Saturday, August 12, 2023 at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Franklin with Pastor Shannon Wachter officiating. Burial will follow in the Franklin Cemetery.

Roland is survived by his wife, Sharon; sons, Clint Gronau of Franklin, Wade (Cindi) Gronau of Redwood Falls, Neil (Michelle) Gronau of Eagan; grandchildren, Aaron (Kortney) Gronau, Taylor (Amanda) Gronau, Kaylee (Ben) Bruner, Catarina (Tyler) Lang, Grant Gronau, Garrett Gronau, Gabe Gronau, Greg Gronau, George Gronau; great-grandchildren, Reid Lang and Nolan Gronau.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Ross Aaron Gronau; grand-daughter, Rachel in infancy and his brother, Richard Gronau.

Roland Randolph Gronau was born August 20, 1938 to Alfred and Eleanora (Tastel) Gronau in Camp Township, Franklin, MN. Roland farmed all his life in Franklin. He was united in marriage to Sharon Black in 1962 and together they raised their three sons on their farm in Franklin.  Roland enjoyed cutting wood for his wood furnace, playing and spending time with his friends and family. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Blessed be his memory.
