Ronald Paul Hammerschmidt was born July 3, 1969 in St. Paul. He attended school in New Ulm and was a 1990 graduate of NUHS and was employed at MRCI in New Ulm.
Ron lived a joyful life, enjoying experiences and friendships rather than material things. He worked at MRCI for many years and made many friends there. Over the years, he enjoyed participating in Special Olympics, bowling and many other ARS activities. He was always a very social person and never met a stranger. He could strike up a conversation with anyone and loved to make people smile with his sense of humor and mischievous spirit. He had an endearing way of engaging with others that made it easy to become his friend. His favorite things included spending time with friends and family, especially at the lake, Country music, and telling his never-ending stories around the campfire.
We were so fortunate to have Ron as part of our family. He was a special son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many and he will be missed greatly.
