Ruth W. Kutz, age 91 of New Ulm died peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2024, at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm.

Funeral service will be 1pm on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm.  Pastor David Schreiber will officiate, and burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 12-1pm on Sunday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-North Chapel prior to the service.

Ruth is survived by her sister, Dorothy (Randy) Turnblad of New Ulm; her nephews and nieces, Bill (Sheleen) Turnblad of New Ulm, Cinda (Cliff) Wickman of Little Canada, Brian (Dawn) Turnblad of White Bear Lake, Bob (Sue) Turnblad of Coon Rapids, and Leah (Scott) Bode of New Ulm.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Frederick Kutz; and her nephew, James Turnblad.

Ruth Wilke Kutz was born August 31, 1933, in Arthur, Illinois to Gregor and Bertha (Wilke) Kutz.  Ruth lived in many states with her parents and sister before they eventually settled in New Ulm in the 1980s.  Although Ruth was born with a developmental disability, she was very imaginative and loved to write stories and draw.  She frequently walked in the neighborhood, and enjoyed greeting people as she went.  Staff and other residents at Oak Hills enjoyed her social personality and jokes.  Ruth will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.  Blessed be her memory.
