Obituary

Ruth Mack, age 73, of New Ulm passed away Thursday, September 17, 2026, at her home.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 25, 2026, at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm with Pastor Jeffrey Bovee officiating. Visitation will be 10–11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Peter (Hailey) Mack of Bemidji, Jonathan (Vanessa) Mack of Nicollet, Timothy (Amanda) Mack of Bemidji, and Michael (Michelle) Mack of Bemidji; grandchildren, BreAnna, Samantha, Olivia, and Brandon Mack; sister, Frances (David) Siegler of Neosho, Wisconsin; and brothers, Fredrick (Mary) Sill of Stoddard, Wisconsin, and Arthur Sill of Benton Harbor, Michigan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Mack; her parents, Walter and Lydia Sill; and sister-in-law, Christina Sill.

Ruth was born July 31, 1953, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to Walter and Lydia (Schilk) Sill. She graduated from Michigan Lutheran Seminary in 1971 and Martin Luther College on June 6, 1975. On February 28, 1976, she was united in marriage to Dale Mack in Benton Harbor, Michigan.

Ruth and Dale lived in Brillion, Wisconsin, where Ruth taught elementary school. They later moved to New Ulm, where they built their home and raised their four sons.

Ruth enjoyed gardening, baking, arts and crafts, and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
