Obituary

Sharon Hopp, age 69 of Mankato passed away with her family by her side on Wednesday, August 14, 2024 at Mayo Hospital in Rochester.

A private family burial took place in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Hanska.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Larry Hopp of Mankato; sister, Sandy (Bill) Grace of Seattle, WA; brother, Steve (Bonnie May) Hage of Nevis; brother-in-law, Dan Hopp of Nicollet; niece, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law.

Sharon Kay Hage was born on May 10, 1955 in Madelia to Harold and Viola (Koenen) Hage. She attended school in Hanska and graduated from New Ulm High School. On May 3, 1980 Sharon was united in marriage to Larry Hopp in Nicollet. The two made their home in Mankato. Sharon worked many years as an administrative assistant for the Minnesota Department of Revenue. She liked to work on puzzles and always appreciated flowers, gardening, and birds. She also liked making silk flowers, doing ceramics, and reading. Sharon and Larry enjoyed going to flea markets and sporting events together. One of Sharon's favorite pastimes was spending time and visiting with her family, neighbors, and friends. Sharon was a member of Hosana Lutheran Church in Mankato. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed. Blessed be her memory.
