Sharon Portner-Wolf, age 82 of New Ulm died on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at New Ulm Medical Center as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH chapel. Burial will follow in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in New Ulm.
Visitation will be 9-11 am on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH chapel.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Bill Wolf of New Ulm; daughters, Kim (Tom) Lampi of Prescott Valley, AZ and Kara (Miguel Condit) Portner of Phoenix, AZ; step-daughters, Carol Aura and Barb Wolf, both of New Ulm; grandchildren, Daniel, Jennifer, James, Jordan, Jacob, Carly, Miguel Jr., Adrian, Steve, Stacy, Brandon, Jennifer; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Julianne (John) Schroeck of Scottsdale, AZ and Laurie (Alan Solberg) Eckstein of New Ulm; other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norbert and Jeannette (Jacobson) Macho; first husband, Dennis Portner in 1987; son, Scott Portner in 2021; step-daughter, Jean Eckstein-Wolf.
Sharon was born August 14, 1941 in New Ulm to Norbert and Jeannette (Jacobson) Macho. Sharon attended St. Paul's Lutheran School and Martin Luther Academy in New Ulm. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Sharon was united in marriage to Dennis Portner in 1959. Their union was blessed with 3 children. They made their home and raised their children in New Ulm. Sharon worked for 3M for 20 years, then American Express until retirement. Sharon married Bill Wolf on April 20, 1991 in Hemet, CA. They resided in New Ulm, spent 15 years in Phoenix, and returned to New Ulm in 2005. Sharon loved camping, traveling the world, dogs, and going out to eat, especially going to George's for Lobster. Sharon's wit and humor was always present. Her death was sudden and will leave a void in many hearts. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Blessed be her memory.
