Shelly Ann Berg, age 67, of New Ulm passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at United Hospital in St. Paul.
Visitation will be from 12 pm - 3 pm Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – North Chapel in New Ulm.

Shelly is survived by her partner of 29 years, Steve Engelby, and their dog, Lewy; daughter, Mandi (Lonny) Hewitt; son, Charlie (Samantha) Ahlbrecht; grandchildren, Kaylee, Rusty, Mya, Mason; six great grandchildren; mother, Virginia "Mickey" Richter; sisters, Becky (Mike) Groebner, Georgia "Joie" (Jerry) Froelich, and Sherry (Jeff) Rose.
She was preceded in death by her father, Duane "Bud" Richter; maternal grandparents, Frank and Helen Liebl; and paternal grandparents, John "Hans" and Hilda Richter.
Shelly (Richter) Berg was born June 12, 1957, in New Ulm to Duane "Bud" and Virginia "Mickey" (Liebl) Richter. Shelly was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm. She attended New Ulm High School until 1975. Shelly was a devoted homemaker and loving mother dedicating her life to raising two children with love and compassion. Shelly was known for being a great cook. She loved to entertain her friends and family. Shelly was the life of the party, always making people laugh. She loved spending time with Steve and their beloved dog, Lewy as well as the rest of her family. Her warm smile, gentle presence, and steadfast support will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
