Stephanie Dauer, age 64 of New Ulm died Friday, September 2, 2022 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

Visitation will be 4-7 pm on Friday, September 16, 2022 at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH chapel and 10-11 am on Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Stephanie is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Kevin Dauer of New Ulm; son, Cameron (Raquel Wendler) Dauer of Mankato; sisters, Gwen (Dave) Schweppe of Friendswood, Texas, KaRae (Skip) Fox of Lindcreek, Missouri, Gaylee McVean of Fortworth, Texas; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jackie Krueger.

Stephanie Star Sommers was born October 26, 1957 in New Ulm to Wayne and Marcella (Kassuelke) Sommers. She graduated from New Ulm High School in 1976. Stephanie married her high school sweetheart, Kevin Dauer on October 21, 1978 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in New Ulm. The two were blessed with one son. Stephanie was employed with Tecktronics and QMC Technologies. Since 1993, she was a homemaker and stay at home Mother. Stephanie enjoyed many types of crafts, including sketching, drawing, and painting. She also liked restoring old furniture and remodeling her home. Stephanie was a lifelong member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and friend and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or St. Paul's Lutheran School to help with the School Debt Reduction program.
