Steve Benson, age 75 of New Ulm died Sunday, February 27, 2022 at the New Ulm Medical Center.

A visitation will be held from 2-4 pm on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH chapel.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 3, 2022 at 4 pm at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH chapel.

Steve is survived by his wife, Janet Benson; son, Scott Benson; sister, Trudy Wenninger; brother, Douglas (Diane) Benson; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister-in-law; brother-in-law.

Steven Arthur Benson was born November 27, 1946 in New Ulm to Truman and Myrtle (Blake) Benson. He graduated from New Ulm High School. He was blessed with one son. On September 27, 1975 he married Janet Briese in New Ulm. Steve worked at Minnesota Steel and Drum and later at PGI Mailers. He enjoyed visiting with friends, sitting outside watching people drive by, watching the birds, drinking coffee, talking with neighbors, and walking about. Steve and his son, Scott were real sports aficionados. They enjoyed many hours together, watching their favorite teams. Steve will be missed by all who knew him. Blessed be his memory.
