Sylvia was born in Triggiano, Italy in 1934, then immigrated to the United States in 1947. Her family settled in Dearborn, Michigan where she met her future husband, Richard Salvati. Sylvia and Richard married in 1962, then moved to New Ulm in 1968 where they both happily lived the rest of their lives. Sylvia was a loving mother who will be missed. Family was her greatest joy, but she also loved gardening, fishing, travel, opera, reading, and just being outside on a sunny day. Sylvia was a parishioner at St. Mary's Catholic Church since moving to New Ulm and it was a place where she found many hours of peace, prayer and respite.
