Thomas "Tom" Grunst, age 53, of Nicollet passed away Saturday, May 2, 2026 in Nicollet.

Tom is survived by his sisters, Kim Stevensen, Kelly (Ted) Lewis, Kari (Jeremy) Arndt; brothers, Edward "Butch" (Tia) Grunst, Mike Grunst; sisters-in-law, Diane (Steve) Weihe; brothers-in-law, Lynn (Lyn) Johnson, Dale (Dawn) Johnson; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed & Sandy Grunst; wife, Anita Grunst; brother-in-law, Scott Stevensen; and parents-in-law, Harland & Delores Johnson.

Thomas Edward Grunst was born March 31, 1973 to Edward and Sandra (Kettner) Grunst in New Ulm. He graduated from Nicollet High School and began working. On September 26, 1998, Tom was united in marriage to Anita Johnson at St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church in Mankato. The couple lived in Nicollet. Tom worked at Alumacraft, Hewitts Manufacturing, Gordini, Cabin Bar, and Old Castle Infrastructure. Outside of work, he enjoyed attending races, fishing, hunting, and following his nieces' and nephews' sporting events. Tom was also a member of the Nicollet Conservation Club, where he helped at many events. Many fond memories were made meeting with family and friends at the Cabin Bar, attending races at the Arlington Raceway and Elko Speedway, watching the Minnesota Wild and other sports, as well as helping at Dorn's Deer Den. Tom will be dearly missed by those that knew him.
