Tylyn Kay Harper, age 53 of Buffalo Lake passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at the Hutchinson Health Hospital in Hutchinson.
A celebration of life service will be held from 2-5 pm on Saturday, August 10th, 2024, at the Buffalo Lake Community Center in Buffalo Lake, Minnesota.
An additional celebration of life will be held from 2-5 pm on Saturday, August 24th, 2024, at the Grace Lutheran Church in Hubbard, Ohio.
The Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes of New Ulm are assisting the family with arrangements at this time.

Tylyn is survived by her mother, Janis Harper of Hubbard, Ohio; her sisters, Sabrina (Ken Mauch) Harper of West Chester, Ohio, Heather (Gary Nelson) Harper-Nelson of Hubbard, Ohio; her brother, Bill (Stefani Van Aken) Harper of Union, Michigan; her niece, Alexys Nelson of Hubbard, Ohio; and her significant other, Randy Asplund of Buffalo Lake, Minnesota.
She was preceded in death by her father, Orville Harper Jr.
Tylyn Kay Harper was born May 25, 1971, in Youngstown, Ohio to Orville Jr. and Janis (Bland) Harper. Growing up in Ohio, Tylyn was a 1989 graduate from Hubbard High School. She furthered her education at Youngstown State University in Ohio where she first attained her degree in Education. Tylyn continued her education at Youngstown State University where later in life, she attained her Master's Degree in English. Tylyn met the love of her life, Randall Asplund and they started their lives together living in Minnetonka, Minnesota. While living in the metro area, Tylyn worked at Lau Family School in St. Paul where she taught English as a second language. Tylyn always had a love for small town life, and fell in love with Buffalo Lake, Minnesota, where Randy and Tylyn later made their home. While in Buffalo Lake, Tylyn worked for the school district where she served as a paraprofessional as well as the school librarian. Tylyn also worked part time at the Down Home Bakery in Buffalo Lake. Most recently, Tylyn was employed at Target in Hutchinson. Besides her work, Tylyn had a variety of hobbies she enjoyed in life. To relax, Tylyn could always find time to read a good book, and had a deep love for animals her entire life. She will forever be remembered for her fun-loving personality, her adventurous spirit, and her kind, giving, generous heart. May these memories, and countless others forever stay in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved her. Blessed be her memory.
