NEW ULM
ViAnn Hornick, 52, of New Ulm died Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm with Monsignor John A. Richter officiating. Burial will be in the New Ulm City Cemetery in New Ulm. Visitation will be 5 - 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 7:30 - 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm.
ViAnn is survived by her daughters, Shamara Hornick, Shyranda Hornick both of New Ulm; son, Shane Gulden of Mankato; sister, Wanda Audus of Watertown, South Dakota; brothers and sisters-in-law, Kerrence and Marie Fischer of Cypress, Texas, Daryle and Marjorie Fischer of New Ulm, Layne and Tamera Fischer of Creston, Iowa; nieces; nephews; brother-in-law, Jerry Welke of New Ulm; and her special friend, Dave Walser of Hanska. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lynneece Welke, Mary Fischer in infancy; and a brother, Ronnie Fischer.
ViAnn Louise Fischer was born on October 10, 1959 in New Ulm to John E. and Lucille (Thordson) Fischer. She had been employed as a para-professional in the New Ulm School District. ViAnn was an avid artist and enjoyed gardening, being a mother, watching her children play sports and playing cards and games with her family. She was a member of the Catholic Faith. MVFH.org.
