Virginia M. Breu, age 87, of Searles passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at the Living Meadows in Madelia.
Mass of Christian burial will be 11:00 am Saturday, August 5, 2023 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Searles. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church on Saturday.
The Christian Mothers Society will pray the rosary on Friday, August 4, at 4 pm at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.

Virginia is survived by sisters, Gladys (Ed) Udelhofen of Mason City, Iowa, Eileen "Abbi" Weber of Blaine; Sisters-in-law, Jean Wallner of New Ulm, Shirley Brown of Florida, Betsy (Larry) Gordon of Cambridge; brothers-in-law, Roger (Norma) Breu of Searles, Calvin Smith of Kenosha and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, John F. Breu Jr. and her sisters, Lois Wagner, Lorene (Vern) Walden; her brothers, Jim Wallner, Dennis Wallner; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Gulden-Wiebe, and Esther Leikam, Marian Smith and brother-in-law, Dennis (LaVon) Breu.
Virginia M. Wallner was born April 11, 1936 in New Ulm to Lawrence and Anne (Dussel) Wallner. She was a 1954 graduate from New Ulm High School. Virginia was united in marriage to John F. Breu Jr. on April 11, 1959 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in New Ulm. After marriage the couple moved to Searles where they lived until John passed in 2015. Virginia worked for Fritsche Clinic from 1955 – 1965 and Loan Corp from 1965 - 1980. Virginia and John did everything together including snowmobiling, and going for trips on their motorcycles. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, reading and was cast volunteer for quilting she was also an active member of St. John the Baptist Church in Searles. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
