Wanda R. Pass, age 68 of New Ulm died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.

A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-South Chapel in New Ulm.  Father Joshua Bot will officiate, and burial will take place in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.

A graveside service will be held at 3pm on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9-11 am on Tuesday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home-South Chapel.

The service will be live-streamed on the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home's Facebook page starting at 11 am on Tuesday.

Wanda is survived by her husband, Terry Pass of New Ulm; her daughter, Trisha Pass of Gibbon; her son, William Pass of Mankato; her grandchildren, Bradley and Christian Maurer of New Ulm, Douglas Iverson of Gibbon; her sisters, Diane Verbout of Wahpeton, ND, Cheryl (Dean) Viestenz of Fargo, ND; her brother, Scott (Amy) Verbout of Minneapolis; and many other nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Irene Verbout.

Wanda Ruth Verbout was born on December 4, 1954. in Fargo, North Dakota to Melvin and Irene (Sunsdahl) Verbout, and was a 1972 graduate from Fargo High School.  Wanda was united in marriage to Terry Pass on August 10, 1984, in Fargo, North Dakota.  This union blessed the couple with a son and a daughter whom together they raised in New Ulm. Wanda worked from the home as a loving mother and homemaker.  Besides her work from the home, Wanda had many other hobbies she enjoyed in life.  As an individual who couldn't pass up a good deal, she enjoyed visiting local garage sales and thrift stores.  She loved shopping, especially for the holidays where she would always find a unique and special surprise for her children and grandchildren.  To relax, she enjoyed going to movies, going out to eat, attending fun and unique music venues, and reading.  In her younger days, she enjoyed spending time outside tending to her garden.  Wanda was always generous with her time and efforts.  She was the type of person who always put the needs of others before her own.  Wanda loved any opportunity to share her gifts in the kitchen with anyone.  She collected, studied, and adapted countless cookbooks to create the perfect meals from her kitchen for all to appreciate.  What she loved most in life was time she got to spend with her family.  She cherished every moment she got to spend with them, and especially loved getting to see her grandchildren grow.  Although her passing is so sudden and unexpected, Wanda will be remembered by all who knew and loved her for her caring and generous heart.  These memories and so many others will forever stay in the minds of all who knew and loved her.  Blessed be her memory.
