Wayne W. Schultz, age 88, passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2022 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Pastor Kathleen Ulland-Klinkner will officiate. Burial will follow in the New Ulm City Cemetery, Soldier's Rest section where the New Ulm Area Comrades of Valor Honor Guard will provide full military honors.
A public viewing will be from 4-7 p.m. Sunday, September 18, 2022 at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH CHAPEL in New Ulm. Memorial visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Monday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm.

Wayne is survived by his sons, Douglas (Tammy) Schultz of Baxter, Dick (Barb) Schultz of Grand Forks, ND; grandchildren Katie Schultz, Kay (Jeff) Stamp, Emily (Ryan) Wolff, Samantha Schultz, Ross Schultz, William Schultz; great grandchildren, Carley, Chloe, Colton, Cayden, Greyson; great great grandchild, Evelyn; and many extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deloris "Dee" Schultz; his parents; parents-in-law, Ewald and Viroqua (Recknor) Kruger; and brother, Lowell Schultz.
Wayne William Schultz was born January 10, 1934 to Lawrence and Rosina (Kopischke) Schultz in Owatonna. He graduated from Owatonna and went on to attend college at Mankato and the University of Minnesota. On April 21, 1956, Wayne was united in marriage to Deloris "Dee" Kruger at St. John's Lutheran Church in Waseca. Wayne spent two years serving his country in the United States Army and six years with the active Army Reserves. For his careers, Wayne spent over fifteen years with EF Johnson Technologies in Waseca, over two years as a teacher at Granite Falls Vo-Tech, and over twenty-six years at AMPI in New Ulm as a data processing manager until he retired. Wayne was an avid member of the American Legion in New Ulm and a parishioner at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in New Ulm. Above all, Wayne treasured all the time he was able to spend with Dee, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Blessed be his memory.
