William “Willard” Henry Nesburg, 76, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, September 14, 2026.

Willard was an engineer at heart and a builder by nature. Gifted with a brilliant mind and endless curiosity, he could often be found in his shop designing, creating, fixing, or inventing something new. There was rarely a project he wouldn't tackle, and if he didn't know how to do something, he was determined to learn. He believed deeply in hard work, self-reliance, and the satisfaction that comes from figuring things out with your own two hands, a philosophy reflected in the beautifully remodeled homes he transformed and the countless projects he brought to life.

He enjoyed fishing, watching old cowboy movies, and spending time with friends, but his true passion was cars. Whether he was restoring, talking about, or simply admiring them, cars brought him endless joy.

His passing is a heartbreaking loss, and our family is devastated. Yet there is comfort in knowing that he was doing something he loved in his final moments. Willard left this world the same way he lived much of his life: on the open road, behind the wheel of his beloved Corvette, with the freedom of the journey ahead of him.

Willard was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Vivian Nesburg. He is survived by his children, Travis (Amanda) Nesburg and Tracy (Russell) Nesburg; his sister, Dianne Nesburg; five grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; his partner, Gail Dumas; and many cherished friends.

Our dad made it abundantly clear that if we ever held a formal funeral service, he'd probably come back to haunt us. Rather than take that chance, we're honoring his wishes with a Celebration of Life instead.

Celebration of Life will be November 7th, 2026 from11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the New Ulm American Legion Post 132, 13 South Minnesota Street, New Ulm, MN 56073.

The family kindly requests no flowers. Instead, please join us dressed casually, share a meal, raise a glass, swap stories, laugh a little, and help us celebrate the incredible man we were fortunate enough to call Dad.

He taught us to work hard, stay curious, and never be afraid to tackle something new. Most importantly, he showed us how to live life on our own terms
