Winton Ellis Jones, age 71, of Cambria passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023. He was able to spend his final days surrounded by family and friends. There will be a private service at the Cambria Cemetery, followed by a public Celebration of Life at a later date.
The Minnesota Valley Funeral Home in New Ulm is handling the arrangements.

Wint, the oldest son of Mervin and DeLoris Jones was born on September 5, 1951, in New Ulm. He graduated from New Ulm High School in 1969. He spent most of his life farming in the Cambria area.
At a class reunion, he was reacquainted with a high school classmate, Dee Ann Holzerland. In October, 1994, she moved to Cambria to be with Wint. On September 23, 2001 they were united in marriage at "The Shack", in their matching bib overalls.
He is survived by his father, Mervin (Butch) Jones of Cambria; sister, Vickie (Mike) Randall of Cambria; brother, Richard (Marsha) Jones of Cambria; step-children Dana (Amy) Leonard of Plymouth, and Amber (Jason) Donaghue of Mora; six grandchildren, Carson, Allison, Abby, Noah, Blake, and Landon; nieces and nephews, Keith (Amy) Stearns, Beth (Eran) Banon, Brian (Maggie) Stearns, Dawn Stearns, Darcy Stearns (Steve Hundley), Nathan (Heidi) Jones, Meredith Jones (Nate Gieseke), Maizie (Brandon) Arndt, Joshua Randall (Lindsey Thompson); grandnieces and grandnephews, Morgan, Hunter, Ethan, Brady, Hudson, Savannah, Carson, Trinity, Terrell, Vinnie, Henry, Hadley, Sawyer, Eloise, Brody, Brenley, and Bayler, and many special friends that were like family.
Wint was preceded in death by his wife, Dee Jones; mother, DeLoris Jones; sisters, Judy Stearns and Connie Jones; and brother-in-law, Tom Stearns.
Wint enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf league in Winthrop, and playing Cambria fast pitch. He also spent his time visiting with family and friends, playing cards, listening to music, spending time at the river bottom and "The Shack" and at Happy Hour at the local establishments. He enjoyed his role organizing the fireworks at the annual Cambria 4th of July celebration. He was the self-proclaimed mayor of Cambria and the Cambria community was always very important to him. He was also a member of the Cambria Presbyterian Church. He was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
