Veronica Forstner, 110, of New Ulm died Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the Oak Hills Living Center in New Ulm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm with Monsignor John A. Richter celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in the New Ulm Catholic Cemetery in New Ulm. Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m. Thursday and from 7:30 – 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home, NORTH CHAPEL, in New Ulm. The Christian Mothers will pray the rosary at 4:00 p.m. Thursday at the Cathedral.
Veronica is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Luverne Fischer of New Ulm, Connie and Charles Reichensperger of St. Cloud; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Donna Forstner of Gibbon, Myron Forstner, Rollie and Arlis Forstner, Evelyn Forstner all of New Ulm; thirty nine grandchildren; seventy great grandchildren; thirty five great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Forstner in 1975; son, Gene Forstner; daughter-in-law, Shirley Forstner; sisters, Viola, Leona, Eleanor, Caroline; brothers, Leander, Harold, Henry, Carl, Arnold and Walter Boettger.
Veronica Boettger was born on May 3, 1905 in Sigel Township, Brown County to Henry and Caroline (Tauer) Boettger. On February 1, 1926 she was united in marriage to Frank Forstner at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in New Ulm. They farmed in Sigel Township, Brown County. She loved to garden, read, travel, and watch the Minnesota Twins. Veronica was a member of the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm, and the Christian Mother's Society. www.mvfh.org
