ST. GEORGE

Rosalia "Rose" Liebl, 99, of St. George died Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at the Crystal Seasons Living Center in Lake Crystal. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2016 at the St. George Catholic Church in St. George with Monsignor John A. Richter celebrating the Mass. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 1 – 4 p.m. Sunday at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home (NORTH CHAPEL) in New Ulm and will continue for one hour prior to the time of service at the church on Monday. There will be a St. George Catholic United rosary at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Rose is survived by her daughters, Marge (Ray) Berg of Gibbon, Ruth (Duane) Helget of St. James, Diane (David) O'Mara of Stewartville, Lois (John) Larson of Lake Crystal, Marlene (Larry) Wilking of Nicollet, Phyllis (Donny) DeSaer of Courtland, Linda (Paul) Soukup of New Ulm, Mary Liebl and her special friend, Wayne Kisner of St. Cloud; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; and great-great grandchildren; brother, Benjamin (Marian) Traegner of Sleepy Eye; nieces; and nephews. She was preceded in death by parents; husband, Louis "Louie" Liebl; sons, James Liebl, David Liebl; granddaughter, Janelle Helget; sister, Angela Bianchi; brother, Arnold Traegner; and sons-in-law, Linus Huiras, and Roger Matz.

Rosalia Traegner was born on June 6, 1917 in Sibley County to Jacob and Margaretha (Blumhoefer) Traegner. On October 30, 1944 she was united in marriage to Louis Liebl at the St. George Catholic Church in St. George. She was a homemaker and they farmed in West Newton Township, Nicollet County until 1977 but continued to live on the farm. She moved to New Ulm in 1992. Rose enjoyed gardening, quilting, embroidery, canning preserves, dancing, baking, cooking, and spending time with her family.
