Lonnie Sievert Taralseth was born September 30, 1936 in Moltke Township to Alfred and Joyce (Larson) Taralseth. He was a 1954 graduate from Gibbon High School. After graduation, Lonnie served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1965. On April 4, 1964, Lonnie was united in marriage with Kathy Hallin at the Excelsior Lutheran Church in Excelsior. The couple was blessed with two sons whom together they raised on their farm outside of Gibbon where Lonnie raised cattle. Besides his work on the farm with his cattle, Lonnie had a great love for all animals including his cats, dogs, and deer he cared for. He also had a deep appreciation for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snowmobiling, and later in life really enjoyed mowing his lawn, and caring for his yard. What he loved most in life was his family; especially being able to watch his grandchildren grow. He was a member of the Gibbon Sportsman's Club, and Augustana Lutheran Church. Blessed be his memory.
