John Linus Guggisberg's Obituary
John L. Guggisberg, 52, of New Ulm passed away Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis.
Visitation will be 3 – 7 PM Thursday, March 30, at the funeral home Minnesota Valley Funeral Home SOUTH CHAPEL with the service of remembrance beginning at 7 PM.
John is survived by his son, Jack Guggisberg of Anna, Illinois; parents, Linus and Loraine Guggisberg of Essig; sisters, Louise Guggisberg of New Ulm and Ann O'Callaghan of St. Paul; nephews, Alex Guggisberg, Henry O'Callaghan; a niece, Eleanor O'Callaghan; and special friend, Kris Wiley of New Ulm. John was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, David O'Callaghan.
John Linus Guggisberg was born June 28, 1964 in St. Paul to Linus and Loraine (Portner) Guggisberg. He graduated from Cathedral High School in 1982, and earned his degree in videography from Brown Institute in Minneapolis.
John and longtime friend Jack Beranek were business partners in Flying Buttress Media of New Ulm.
Always with a generous spirit, John was an organ donor through Life Source of Minnesota. John had a strong moral compass with a sense of humor that drew people to him. Years to come, we will remember his kindness and his ability to create a scene of laughter with any group of people.
