Floyd D. Schlottman, age 91, of New Ulm, died Monday, July 29, 2019 at the Sleepy Eye Care Center.

A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. on Friday, August 2, 2019 at the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – NORTH CHAPEL in New Ulm, with Pastor Patrick Thompson officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the funeral home.

Floyd is survived by his wife, Luella Schlottman; daughters, Barbara (David) Dingman and JoEllen (Stanley) Martineau; son, David (Carrie) Schlottman; step-son, Bruce (Heather) Vellenga; step-daughter, Susan (David) Martinez ; grandchildren, Matthew (Victoria) Pagel, Justin Pagel, Noah Hoyt, Brook Watkins, Sheldon (Jennifer) Brueske, Zackary (Heidi) Schlottman, Benjamin (Tiana) Schlottman, Emilee Schlottman, Tucker (Kerri) Schlottman, Hunter Schlottman, and Carter Schlottman; Great-Grandchildren, Maximillian Pagel, August Pagel, Nicholas Brueske, Alexander Brueske, and Ryleigh Brueske; special niece, Lori (Sebert) Wilson who loved her uncle,and cared for his personal needs late in life; and many nieces and nephews .

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Duane Schlottman and Dale Schlottman; and a sister, Doris Melzer.

Floyd Donald Schlottman was born on October 2, 1927, New Ulm to Grant & Rose Schlottman.  He lived most of his life in New Ulm, with the exception of a few months in California. Floyd owned Helen and Floyd's Café, and later, New Ulm Office Machines. He was a career musician, drummer, and vocalist. Floyd was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings, enjoyed giving everyone a nickname, and fishing on Lakes Hanska, Washington, and Stella with his brother, Dale.
