Kenneth Marvin Utz, age 75, of Springfield died peacefully on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at the St. Cloud Hospital in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

Mass of Christian burial will be 11 am on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield.  Father Garrett Ahlers will celebrate the Mass, and burial will follow in the St. Raphael's Catholic Cemetery in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 10-11 am on Tuesday at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield.

The Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes of New Ulm are assisting the family with arrangements at this time.

Kenneth is survived by his daughter, DeAnn; his step-daughter, Jennifer (Richard) Hornick of Rapid City, South Dakota; his step-son, Steve (Mykhaila) Hornick of Springfield; his 11 grandchildren; his sisters, Mary Ann Ochs of Springfield, Shirley (Dale) Hacker of Springfield; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Darlene Utz; and his brothers, Carl, Linus, Dennis, Ronald, Donald, and Richard Utz.

Kenneth "Kenny" Marvin Utz was born June 14, 1946, in Springfield, Minnesota to Philip and Clara (Kraus) Utz.  He attended grade school at St. Raphael's Catholic School in Springfield.  He was united in marriage to Darlene Haas on December 22, 2000, in Las Vegas, Nevada and they made their home together in Springfield.  Kenny worked a variety of general labor jobs in Brown County over his career.  He worked at Saloneks in Springfield, as well as Ochs Brick and Tile and the New Ulm Glass Company before retiring in 2014.  Besides his work, Kenny also enjoyed playing his guitar, listening to good old country music, working on his yard, and tending to his roses in his garden.  He was a member of St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springfield.  Blessed be his memory.
