Obituary

Marilyn E. King, age 87, of New Ulm, died Wednesday, October 2, 2019 at Oak Hills Living Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 8, 2019, at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm.  Burial will be in the St. Raphael Catholic Cemetery in Springfield.

Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 am on Tuesday at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Barbara Ohneck of Twinsburg, OH; a sister, Rosemary (Norbert) Ochs of Walker; two granddaughters, Elizabeth (Randy Morganstein) Ohneck and Emily (Colin Widmer) Ohneck; and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton; her parents; brothers, Delbert, Willard, Ralph, Gerald and Jerome Juenemann; and her sisters, Irene (Leo) Groebner and Delores (Ervin) Platz.

Marilyn Elizabeth Juenemann was born on January 3, 1932 in Springfield, MN to Oscar & Barbara (Hillesheim) Juenemann.  She was united in marriage to Clayton King on October 6, 1954 at St. Raphael Catholic Church in Springfield. They resided in Estherville, IA from 1960 until 2013. Marilyn dedicated her life to making a home for their daughter, working as an LPN, Store Manager at PPG, and founding Marilyn's Home Place. Upon her retirement, Marilyn enjoyed volunteering with the hospice program, hunting for antiques, restoring furniture, interior decorating, and golfing with her husband. She was also an active member at St. Patrick's Catholic Church where she volunteered with multiple fundraising events, including founding the annual Tour of Homes. Marilyn was also a member of the Catholic Daughters and VFW Auxiliary. Many treasured memories were made spending time with her daughter and granddaughters, as well as travelling with her husband, family, and friends. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her. Blessed be her memory.
