On May 21, 1966, Mary was united in marriage to Charles "Chuck" Rieke at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm and their union was blessed with six children. Mary dedicated much of her life to raising her children. In addition to being a mother, Mary also worked in various factories, group homes in Fairfax, and as a bookkeeper for Chuck Rieke Trucking Inc.
