Vernon Lloyd Rosenau was born August 3, 1938 in Redwood Falls Township, Redwood County to Emil and Florence (Dommer) Rosenau. He attended country grade school in Nicollet County and eventually St. Paul's Lutheran School in New Ulm. On August 9, 1958, Vern was united in marriage with Betty Garbrecht at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Nicollet. The couple was blessed with two children whom the couple eventually raised in New Ulm. Early in his career, Vern worked as a farm laborer until 1957. From 1957-1967 he worked in building construction. In 1967, Vern went into road construction with Wallner Construction out of New Ulm; a career he worked until his retirement in 1987. Besides his work, Vern dearly enjoyed fishing and gardening, but his favorite thing to do in life was spend time with his grandkids. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him best.
