Obituary

William "Bill" Wilfahrt of Mankato, formerly New Ulm died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester at the age of 78.

Visitation will be from 2-4 pm on Friday, prior to the service at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home - SOUTH chapel.

A memorial service will be held at 4 pm on Friday, January 7, 2022 at Minnesota Valley Funeral Home – SOUTH chapel with Father Schneider officiating.

William Herbert Wilfahrt was born June 28, 1943 in New Ulm to Herbert and Francis (Holm) Wilfahrt. He joined the Army in 1965 and was honorably discharged in 1967. Bill went onto school and graduated in the accounting field. He worked his entire life as an accountant and retired in 2007. Bill was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially enjoyed hunting and fishing with his brothers, but he could be seen on Lake Washington fishing in his secret spot many times alone. Bill married the love of his life, Marlys Keute and was blessed with 51 wonderful years of marriage.

William is survived by his wife, Marlys Wilfahrt; his son, Mark Wilfahrt; his brothers, Floyd (Agnes) Wilfert, Tom (Janet) Wilfahrt, Gene (Candy) Wilfahrt, and Larry (Mary) Wilfahrt; his sisters, Judy Zahn and Rita Schoof; his brothers-in-law, Chuck Leske, Lester Keute and Arlyn and sister-in-law Lois Keute.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Francis Wilfahrt; his brother, Harlan and sister-in law Elaine Wilfahrt; mother and father-in-law, Roland and Delores Keute; sisters-in-law, JoAnn Leske and Diane Keute
